iPhone Tip: How to play Google Video on your iPhone

Google Video streams content via Flash, which is not supported by the iPhone. However, there is a simple workaround for playing Google Videos on your iPhone. Simply choose a video you'd like to watch (be sure it is a Google Video, and not a Youtube video, which is also integrated into the search now), and follow these simple steps:

1. Scroll over to the right side of the page.
2. Next to the "Download" button, activate the drop-down menu, and choose "Video iPod/Sony PSP."
3. Click "Download" and you will get some drop down text that says: "If the download does not start automatically, right-click this link and choose "Save As"."
4. Click on the link it provides, and your video will start to load.
5. If it does not begin playing automatically, click the Play button on the iPod.

Voila.

Now if there were only a filesystem on the iPhone, so we could save these scrumptous videos for offline viewing...

Looks like Engadget has also made this little discovery.

Not a prob. I discovered it a diner here a few nights ago. Someone I was eating with had never seen the Paul Simon video for You Can Call Me Al, starring Chevy Chase.

I searched Youtube, but to no avail. So on a whim, I tried Google Video and was surprised when it started to stream (over Edge, no less).

this is somewhat of a tangent (or a lot) but i was reading an article on yahoo about people dissecting the iphone. they've figured out how to use it on other networks other than AT&T and all sorts of other cool stuff apple didn't intend.

    This dosn't work anymore?

There doesn't seem to be any 'download' option.
